The Shapeshifter gains its strength by absorbing the fear and pain of its victims. Once a superheroine dies, the Shapeshifter can absorb all of her powers. The Shapeshifter places Firebrand in numerous deathtraps, gaining strength from the superheroine’s struggle for survival. Once the alien has gained Firebrand’s powers, it will have enough power to kill Topaz herself!
